It is vital that we preserve and increase affordable and accessible housing. Lamont views housing as a human right and believes that everyone should have access to an affordable and stable living environment.

As Alderman Lamont will:

• Implement inclusionary zoning policies, and strengthen the Affordable Requirements Ordinance that requires developers to include a 30% percentage of affordable units in new housing developments.

• Advocate for state and federal funding for affordable housing and programs that support low-income community members.
  
• Work to increase access to credit for low-income community members to help them purchase or renovate homes.

• Hold Community Education Sessions to guide community members through the property tax appeal process.
