As Alderman Lamont will:
- Hold regular town hall meetings to engage with community members and gather their input on the types of businesses they would like to see in the neighborhood. These meetings will provide a platform for residents to voice their opinions, share ideas, and collaborate with local leaders to shape the future of the community’s commercial landscape.
- Take action to promote greater participation of minority-owned businesses in the city’s procurement process. This will include identifying and addressing any barriers to entry and implementing initiatives that support the growth and success of minority-owned businesses, such as mentorship programs, networking opportunities, and outreach efforts to increase awareness of procurement opportunities.
- Be a strong advocate for the growth and success of small businesses within the community. I will work to provide access to resources and support, such as technical assistance and funding opportunities, and collaborate with local organizations to create a business-friendly environment that empowers small businesses to thrive.
